Kalinda Software sponsors the Itemscript open source project

Emeryville, California, April 15, 2009 -- Kalinda Software announces its sponsorship of the Itemscript project, an open source initiative to define a standard provisioning language for rich web applications. "Itemscript has the potential to dramatically reduce time to market for rich web applications." according to Bill Braasch of Kalinda Software. "Itemscript encourages iterative development by making it possible to add new services, smarter widgets and better metadata as you find the need or opportunity. Itemscript hides complexity while enabling loose coupling of best of breed components into robust AJAX applications".

With over 25 years of experience bringing information to the right place at the right time, Kalinda Software is excited to join with the open source community to improve the way we develop and deploy rich web applications.

While rich interfaces can greatly improve the user experience, they can be hard to build and expensive to own. Itemscript cuts development cost with a declarative provisioning language and improves responsiveness with compact JSON payloads. Itemscript makes it easy to keep applications up to date as new devices and interface styles come into favor. Itemscript enables graceful migration as new services and data sources come online.

Itemscript is a result of Kalinda Software's work on the Item Foundry, a dynamic integration suite. The Item Foundry includes the Item Cloud (a schema server), Item Lens (an AJAX model application platform) and Item Train (an event manager).
